We had such an amazing year. Reflecting back it could not have started better than playing Ramfest IV in February and building a strong musical relationship and friendship with our now new Manager and Producer Fernando Perdigao. 2010 also had its down side for us and we will always remember it as the year our great friend and bassist Dean decided to part ways with Cold Hand Chemistry to follow a different path.
It started with loads of unexpected challenges and even though slow and painful in the first couple of months, we did manage to reform, regroup with our new Bassist Geoff Gunn. I speak for all of us by saying that this is a new Cold Hand Chemistry. a unit and tight brother hood we never experienced in the past.
There were also some funny moments that mainly involved David and our mad as hell drummer Robert. Somehow it always had something to do with David’s car. I also discovered that I can pull tractors out of the mud and that I am the no 1 tree whisperer in the whole of Table View.
We helped our fellow furry friends at the Love Cats and Animal Rock gigs we had at the end of the year. Saw Donovan Skydiving and Geoff Getting married. Somehow as sad as our year started with Dean leaving I only have fond memories of loads of laughter super awesome gigs and new fans and friends in the lab. Somehow most of the memories are also very cloudy with 1lt Viper lounge beers, Barbados’s moments supporting David and his Latin band and lots and lots of Braai’s at Fernando’s house.
2011 and beyond who knows, as long as we love what we do, enjoy the company with our friends and fans and make music. I am sure 2011 is going to be even greater and more fun than 2010.
Thanks for all the support and love, be safe drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive. Take care of your furry friends when you go away and please be considerate towards them when New Year’s come.
All my love
Chantel
